To qualify for the South Carolina Broker License, you must:
✔️ Have 5 years of active experience as a licensed SC associate within the last 7 years.
✔️ Complete Unit III-A and Unit III-B Broker courses (60 hours total).
Our 60-hour Broker License Course is divided into two parts—Broker A and Broker B—to ensure you gain the knowledge needed to succeed in the world of brokerage. This course is taught virtually by one of our experienced instructors.
This 30-hour mandatory course focuses on brokerage management, helping you lay the foundation for running a real estate business. Topics covered include:

✔️ Ethics and Marketing
✔️ Short- and Long-Range Planning
✔️ Policy Manual Development
✔️ Insurance, Trust Accounts, and Budgeting
✔️ Finance and Management Skills
Note: This course does not require an exam.
The second required course, Unit III-B, is focused on real estate fundamentals. This 30-hour course covers a range of essential topics for brokers:
✔️ Real Property Law
✔️ Federal Housing Laws
✔️ Pricing and Appraisal of Real Property
✔️ Agency, Contracts, and Finance
✔️ License Law
✔️ Federal and State Laws
✔️ Math and Closing Statements
Note: This course requires an exam at the end of the course.
South Carolina requires 150 hours of real estate training to obtain a broker’s license. You may use the 90 hours required for your salesperson’s license in combination with Unit III-A and Unit III-B to fulfill the 150-hour requirement.
Once you complete the courses, you can apply to the South Carolina Real Estate Commission. After approval, you will be eligible to take the South Carolina Real Estate Broker Exam.
