Do you have a license in another state and are looking to get a license in South Carolina? If so, you only need to take the state portion of the SC real estate exam if you are still an out-of-state resident.
Only non-residents who are licensed in another state may qualify to take the South Carolina state exam without taking the SC qualifying courses. South Carolina resident applicants must take a pre-licensing course, even if licensed in another jurisdiction. If a resident has lived six months or less, he or she is treated as a non-resident.
This packet of information, updated with the 2024 license law, is perfect for someone who only needs to take the state portion of the real estate licensing exam! Packet includes everything that will be covered on your exam: a copy of the South Carolina license law, the South Carolina Consumer Protection Code with questions, South Carolina Real Estate Tax laws with questions, South Carolina Coastal Zone Management Act with questions, Chapter 50: The Residential Property Condition Disclosure Act, 200 questions and answers on South Carolina specific test items, the SC-only portion of our standard Pre-Exam Seminar, and two separate quizzes with solutions on SC License Law.
You may select from a digital version of the packet, or have a printed copy mailed to you. Once you are ready to schedule your state exam, simply visit www.llr.sc.gov to apply with the Real Estate Commission.
